How Animal Communicators for Horses Can Enhance Your Equine Connection

Understanding Animal Communication

What is animal communication and its benefits for horse owners

Animal communication is the ability to understand and connect with animals on a deeper level, providing insights into their emotional, mental and physical state.

Benefits for horse owners include improved relationships, better understanding of their horse’s needs and feelings and enhanced overall well-being.

The role of animal communication in improving horse welfare and human-horse relationships

Animal communication can help identify and address underlying issues, leading to improved behavior and performance in horses. It can also strengthen the bond between horse and owner, promoting trust, understanding, and empathy.

Having the additional insights can be another tool  in the toolbox to ensure the overall well-being of your horse while also supporting your performance as a team regardless if you are competing, trail riding or hanging out in the pasture.

Animal Communicators for Horses

How animal communicators can help horse owners address behavioral and health issues

Animal communicators can provide valuable insights into a horse’s emotional and mental state, helping owners address issues such as anxiety, depression and aggression. They can support transitions like moving to a new barn or traveling to competitions for example.

They can also help identify underlying health issues, working in conjunction with a vet to provide a more comprehensive understanding of a horse’s needs.

Horse owners can gain a deeper understanding of their horse’s needs, which can lead to reduced stress, improved behavior and enhanced overall well-being.

Overcoming Challenges as a Horse Owner

Common issues horse owners face

Behavioral problems, such as sudden aggression or fear-based behaviors, can be challenging for horse owners to address. Health issues, such as lameness or digestive problems, can be difficult to diagnose and treat.

Moving barns and dealing with new horse neighbors, new people who support caring for your horse daily and new paddock mates can be stressful not only for the owners but also for the horses.

Are you having trouble figuring out what's going on with your horse?

Sometimes behaviors start out of the blue and sometimes they creep up over time. There are many situations where a horse with a history comes to a new owner and they don’t know what all the triggers mean and where they came from.

Issues have so many sources. Environment, relationships with people past and present, horse herd dynamics, food or stress or pain issues. It could also be issues with tack or old injuries to name a few. There are so many different angles that can be at play when trying to figure out what is going on with your horse.

Sometimes a lot of the challenges come from a completely different level and cannot be fixed with conventional health care or training methods. Sometimes a different type of healing is needed.

Two heads are better than one and if you can have three heads and one of them being your horse, imagine the opportunities to support you figuring out what is going on?

The importance of finding effective solutions to these challenges

Finding effective solutions to these challenges is crucial for the well-being and success of both horse and owner.

Animal communication can provide a valuable tool in addressing these challenges, leading to improved outcomes and relationships.

How can you become better at listening to your horse and communicating with him?

Becoming a better listener starts with being present. Paying attention to patterns, being aware of the environment and looking for what normal and abnormal behavior is in different situations can create a baseline for listening to your horse.

Another way to listen is to acknowledge when they have resistance or concern for a way they are approached, touched, tacked up or led. The simple small things that get noticed can show your horse you are listening.

When you want to communicate with him. It can again start with being present. The less ‘noise’ in the mind the more clear your requests will be. Breathing and being a calm communicator is another aspect that can make it easier to be heard when we are making requests of our horses.

Shifting a few things can support our communication going from being ‘tune out to tune in’ from both our point of view and from our horses.

The role of intuition, empathy, and telepathy in animal communication

Intuition plays a key role in animal communication, allowing the communicator to tap into an animal’s energy and emotions.

Empathy is essential in understanding an animal’s perspective and needs, while telepathy enables the exchange of information between animal and communicator.

Meet Heather Drummond - Animal Communicator for Your Horse

I have been talking to animals since I was a young child and thought everyone did. Often told my imagination was strong I didn’t realize that those around me had turned off their ability to trust or listen to the animals.

I finally recognized that people and their animals could benefit from what I heard, saw, knew from their animals and I finally decided to bring it out into the world again and offer it as a service to support the animals and their owners on their journey to form a strong and meaningful bond.

When things come easy to us, we don’t always see it as a service to be offered. Since working with horses I have recognized they are asking to be heard more and more. It is an honor to offer this service to them and their owners to support them both in building better lives together in so many different ways.

It is also a gift to open the door to communication between the horse owner and their horses and to see the connection grow over time. I also understand that sometimes we are too close to some situations and need to hear it from an objective source to believe what we know.

What have sessions of animal communication created with some of my clients?

Case studies of horses that have benefited from animal communication

LUCKY

During a communication session Lucky’s owner said he had been a bit difficult in trailering going to shows. When we asked Lucky what he thought about the situation. He revealed he usually ended up moving to a new home with all new horses and new everything when he got on those things.

It was never easy. So the owner told Lucky for now he was going to a show not being shipped off to another owner and another barn. They even went as far as saying on the third day this will come home to the same barn, same horses, same people. It was just a short time away from home.. When it came time to trailer the next weekend the owner and Lucky had no issues with the trailer.

Lucky also requested a particular buddy horse he enjoyed trailering with who also did the same shows. Feedback from the trainer was “It was a breeze every show trailering after that,”

CORA

Cora’s owner said she was always really hard to settle in once at a new show location but performed so well at their home barn so she asked what was needed to support doing as well at the shows as they did at home.

The answer came back ‘I want to know where I’m going before I get there and not just thrown in with no preparation’. The solution was to take the horse on a mental tour of the show grounds, barn, show ring, etc and walk through the routine changes with the horse for each show.

The change in that horse was incredible, the trainer said, for the amount of time it took to prepare the horse the results were amazing.

CHINA

China was owned and ridden for pleasure and lived the good life out in the pastures  but her owner said she always seemed to be holding back something. She just felt like she could not put her finger on what her horse was trying to tell her.

She was great under saddle and then just like a good worker sort of turned off and was just there the rest of the time. When we asked China about this in the session she basically told the owner that the owner  was only present when she was riding.

China told her to be present on the ground as soon as she arrived at the barn and be as present as she was in the saddle the entire time, not only when she was with her. The changes within a month were blowing her away.

This one particular day, China was laying down in the paddock when she arrived which she hadn’t done ever when the owner was at the barn and China stayed laying down allowing her to walk up to her and spend time next to her on the ground which was never something they had ever experienced before.

It had been a dream of the owner and now her horse was gifting her with it. China has even had a stronger connection with the owner’s daughters in the last month which she is so happy about.

ICON

Icon was brought back to his original owner after being a competitive dressage horse and the personality of this horse had been restricted and misunderstood in his many years of competitions.

He was a goof ball that nobody in the dressage world appreciated and he now was in a very sore body with an untrusting mind after years away from his original owner. She was able to reassure him he would never have that life again.

She was able to let him know he could take all the time he needed to decompress and that he was never going to compete again even if he was to go in a trailer again. He was also able to show her that the goof ball was still inside and that he was in disbelief he was back home.

He also had opinions about the other horses in particular about the other gelding who he had been with from the ages of birth to two years old and he gave her some details into some of the issues in his body.

Together the owner and Icon have been walking through his retirement and unwinding together with the understanding of just how much is stored in his body.

Many horses also come with insight into other times they were with their owners.

Depending on the circumstances and how open minded people are, it can explain comments like “I’m not going to get better until you look after yourself as well.” or “I’m fine” when they aren’t wanting to worry their owner as they see the owner has a lot on their plate.

Horses are incredible and they are empathetic and aware and can have messages that make their owners a better version of themselves.

Are you having trouble figuring out what's going on with your horse?
