Get to know Jane:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by two things: horses and well, how to be happy. What is it that makes us happy, successful, brave, bold? Why do some people end up sinking when others thrive? And what’s more, how do we be our best selves when it comes to showing up for our horses?
To non-horsey people, it might be a stretch to see how human psychology and behaviour and horses blend together so seamlessly. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it is possible to have a horse/ rider relationship that’s purely transactional (we see it all the time across all disciplines). Where we ride for a result, and horses are just the means for us to get that result.
There are loads of us though who know that as soon as you start to scratch the surface, then it’s pretty clear that if you want to take it to the next level you have to look yourself before you turn to your horse.
We see that to create a partnership with our horses where we are both happy and purposeful in what we’re doing requires us to be integrated, emotionally connected and in charge of ourselves. That’s where the gold is.
Integrated in that we are constantly developing our skills and methods in a way that’s ethical, empathetic and effective.
Where we value the importance of emotional and intuitive intelligence as well as the intellectual stuff.
Emotionally connected in that we can recognise how we feel and channel it effectively, which benefits not only our horses, but ourselves and those around us.
Connected because at the end of the day, the connection is where the fulfilment lies.
When I take all of this, what I see is that horses are my life practice. They have gifted me with insight and self-reflection. They prompt me to learn more about myself and how I operate in the world so that I can be the best horse person possible. Best person possible.
Horses and life. They are impossible to separate. I know there are many people out there who feel the same and chances are you are one of those people. I’m excited to adventure with you!
I get to tie all the threads together- the mental and emotional skills we need- and present them in a way that allows you to develop a wholehearted and fulfilling relationship with your horse, no matter what you want to do together.
